Cat Guarding the Baby Every Night

The cries echoed through their home, day and night, eroding their peace. At last, overwhelmed, Jennifer pleaded with Julian to take Whiskers to the vet. Perhaps he was unwell. Perhaps there was something they had overlooked.

At the clinic, Julian sat in tense silence as the vet conducted a thorough examination. One test followed another, each result coming back clear. Whiskers was perfectly healthy. Julian’s confusion deepened until the vet paused, hesitated, and finally spoke words that rooted him to his seat.

“There’s nothing wrong with your cat,” the vet said gravely. “But… animals sometimes sense what we cannot. It may be that he is warning you—about the baby.”

A shiver ran down Julian’s spine. He wanted to dismiss it, yet the thought dug deep into his mind. Jennifer needed to be checked—immediately.

When he relayed the news at home, Jennifer’s face crumpled, tears spilling in helpless streams. “After all these years of trying, we finally have a baby,” she whispered. “Why would something go wrong now? It’s so unfair.”

With trembling hands, she called her doctor, who insisted she come in at once. Overcome, Jennifer turned to their neighbor Eve, a calm and steady woman who had been her anchor through the pregnancy. A mother and grandmother herself, Eve had become both guide and confidante.

Without hesitation, Eve accompanied them to the hospital. There, doctors moved quickly, their concentration sharp as they performed test after test. The steady hum of machines filled the room, and Julian’s heart hammered with every passing moment.
